HMC EVENTS

A congregational meeting will follow the service today. There will be a Q&A period and members and non-members will be invited to vote on whether or not we offer Dave Hildebrandt the position of Lead Pastor of HMC.

A new G2G group will begin on October 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cox’s home, led by Ken & Karen Toman and Gord & Ellie Cox. It is a study based on the book of James entitles “Faith That Worlds”. Any who are interested are welcome. This study will run for seven weeks.

HMC is part of the Hanover Trick or Treat Trail from 3-5 on Tuesday, October 31. Stop by for games, crafts, hot chocolate, and candy! The fun doesn’t stop there though! Our fourth annual Halloween Drop By Party will carry on until 8pm with the addition of 3 other hot chocolate stations at 683 21st Ave A., 527 19th Ave., and 651 14th St. There will be no Mid-Week on November 1.

The Young at Heart will gather again on Thursday, November 9 with a special guest representative from the Genealogical Society. Nelles will be in the foyer next week with tickets for the hot luncheon.

Save the date! Our AGM will take place on Thursday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. All members and regular attenders are encouraged to attend. The report booklet will be available next Sunday.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray for those among our congregation facing health concerns.

OPPORTUNITIES

Operation Christmas Child is coming! Boxes will be available on October 29 and must be returned by November 12. Start collecting your shoebox items now! For suggestions, pick up an information sheet at the reception desk

Have you felt led to help the people affected by Hurricane Irma? Although the EMCC website doesn’t have a specific site for this disaster, Joel Zantingh (Interim Director of World Partners) suggests two options. 1.) The Disaster Relief Fund on the EMCC website allows you to donate towards the ongoing needs in the world (emcc.ca/engage/support-a-global-project/relief-and-development-projects/emcc-disaster-relief-r-d-10) or 2.) Visit the Red Cross website and make a donation. Thank you for helping those in need!

Meals on Wheels. Every nine weeks it is our turn to deliver meals to people requiring this service. It takes approximately thirty minutes to an hour on the day of your choice and requires you to carry light packages. You can choose to travel in pairs or on your own. Please connect with Brenda Kaufman to volunteer. 519-364-6113.

Reminder: some people in our congregation are very sensitive to scent. Please refrain from using perfume when you join us for worship.

Consider signing up for pre-authorized giving. Forms are available in the foyer and online.

Keep informed on all U18 events and updates. Visit the reception desk in the foyer to sign up for the Remind App – which will keep you in the loop regarding events, deadlines, cancelations, and anything else you need to know as a parent, guardian, or a youth.

CONGRATULATIONS

Happy 90th Birthday to Bob Crawford who reached this amazing milestone on Friday, October 20th!
