Bulletin – December 24, 2017

Nursery & Pre-School Place will be open during our service. All other U18’s will remain in the sanctuary today. (Please note: Children’s Ministry will resume downstairs on January 14, 2018)

Prayer is still happening! Plan to join in every Sunday morning before the service at 9:30 a.m. at the front of the sanctuary.

Our office will be closed next week to honour our staff with a much needed rest. To reach a pastor when the office is closed, please use the Pastoral Care Line 519-379-1752. This phone line is always open if you have prayer requests, need care, or would like a visit.

HMC EVENTS

Join us tonight at 6:00 for a special Christmas Eve Candlelight service.

On Sunday, January 7, 2018 we will be celebrating the installation of Pastor Dave Hildebrandt. Please plan to join with us for the morning service as John Cressman officially welcomes him. We will enjoy special music by Third Tree, a quartet Dave is part of, and we are bumping our Building Connections Sunday forward so we can enjoy a soup luncheon together in the gym. Please bring along some sandwiches and/or dessert to share. Soup will be provided.

The Ladies Social has been asked to organize a simple soup and sandwich lunch for Pastor Dave’s installation service. They are looking for about 20 ladies who are willing to bring a large pot of soup or chilli, and also some ladies who are willing to help set up and clean up. If you can help in any way, please contact Ingrid DeVisser at 519-363-3425 or at ingrid@bbfarms.ca

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray for Pastor Lyndsay who has gone home to be with her parents as her father’s health fails. Pray that the precious time they have left would be well spent and that Lyndsay would find peace in the midst of this hardship.

Please pray for the Shelley family. Amos’ Grandma Robertson has been moved into palliative care, and Faith’s mother is in the hospital with complications relating to diabetes. Pray for peace as they care for both families, that they would rest assured in God’s goodness, and that through it all they would find time to enjoy the Christmas season with their children.

Please pray for Pastor Dave and Shannon Hildebrandt and their three boys, Josh, Andrew, & Caleb as they settle into their new home in Hanover. Pray that their transition would be smooth and that the boys settle well into their new school. Pray for Dave as he prepares to take over the leadership of HMC, and for Shannon, that God would make clear what his plans are for her.

Please pray for our senior youth who will leave this morning to deliver Christmas baskets to families stuck in the Owen Sound Paediatric Ward over Christmas. Pray that their gesture would be a great blessing to the people they connect with, and that the light of Jesus would shine brightly through their actions.

There is a list of prayer requests specific to the needs of HMC available on our website, or by speaking with Karen Schmalz or Brian Austin. Alternatively, if you’d like to receive daily prayer reminders delivered to your email, you can sign up at eepurl.com/cM9ZVj

WORDS OF THANKS

Thanks to the U18 and L.I.T. crew for presenting a wonderful service last Sunday! It’s so good to see our young people involved!

If you volunteer in any of our U18 ministries and missed last week, please take a carnation from the table in the foyer as a thank you for all you do to support our children and youth.

2018 Offering Envelopes are in the foyer today. If you’re hanging on to offering envelopes from previous years, please discard them. Many numbers have been changed and it’s important to keep this straight for our Receipt Coordinator. Please only use your currently dated envelopes, or the pew envelopes. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

There is a new ushers and greeters schedule available today on the reception desk.

Large Print Daily Bread are ready for pick up on the reception desk.

Please take a moment today to check the Lost and Found outside the main office. In the new year these items will be gathered together and donated to our local Salvation Army.
